Form

"All pulchritude is relative.... We ought not...to believe that the banks of the ocean are really deformed, because they have not the form of a regular bulwark; nor that the mountains are out of shape, because they are not exact pyramids or cones; nor that the stars are unskillfully placed, because they are not all situated at uniform distance.  These are not natural irregularities, but with respect to our fancies only; nor are they incommodious to the true uses of life and the designs of man's being on earth."Richard Bentley
"I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness..."Isaiah 45:6-7
"And now, saith the LORD that formed me from  the womb to be his servant...and my God shall be my strength."Isaiah 49:5
"He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their  names .  Great is our LORD, and of great power: his understanding is infinite."Psalms147: 4-5

Falling Leaves

Thursday October 21, 2010
It was a very nice and busy day, today.  Four weeks ago my Mom moved to Tupelo to live with us.  Today she had her first visit with her new Internal Medicine doctor who will be following her health care.
He was very nice and went out of his way to see her.  His compassion was evident, praise God for those who look after the care of others!
Today on another blog we read a quote from a book called Ruthless Trust by Brennan Manning.
"To be grateful for the good things that happen in lives is easy, but to be grateful for all of our lives- the good as well as the bad, the moments of joy as well as the moments of sorrow, the successes as well as the failures, the rewards as well as the rejections- that require hard spiritual work. Still, we are only grateful people when we can say thank you to all that has brought us to the present moment.  As long as we keep dividing our lives between events and people we would like to remember and those we would rather forget we cannot claim the fullness of our beings as a gift of God to be grateful for.  Let's not be afraid to look at everything that has brought us to where we are now and trust that we will soon see it in the guiding hand of a loving God."
This afternoon Josh got to go to the Spartan Shaving Cream practice, which has happened the last several years at the end of the Cross Country season.  He said he had a very good time.  They ran for about 20 minutes then got to play a game of tag with an added dash of shaving cream.

Running Quote of the Week

Quote comes from Ammar Moussa ranked #1 U.S. High School runner at this time(4:10, 8:57, 66th at World JR XC).  He runs for Arcada High School ranked #2 in the U.S. High School Boy's Cross Country.
On October 9, 2010 Arcadia High School C.C. ran a course record time of 77:09(15:25 avg for 5k) at the Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park,  Fresno.
"I thrive on higher expectations, that's how I am.  I try not to let pressure get to me, that's how I am and expectations to me are , the only expectations that matter to me are expectations that I have for myself and expectations that I know God expects from me and that's all that really matters to me....", Ammar Moussa.

Fall Colors

Royal splendor radiates from him, A powerful beauty sets him apart.  Bravo, God, Bravo!  Everyone join in the great shout: Encore!  In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might.  Bring gifts and celebrate,  Bow before the beauty of God, Then to your knees--everyone worship!
Psalm 96:6-9MSG

Corinth Rotary 5k

Running for Shoes
This 5k is neat because the top runners get a shoe award from a local shoe store.
Josh and David both got to run.  They said that all the Spartan runners got awards and did real well.
David said, Josh realized the pace was slow and led the first three-fourths of a mile keeping his own pace.  He is proud that he is developing as a runner.
Josh finished with a time of 21 min and 52 sec to get third in the 13-15 age group.
David got a shoe award for 2nd in his age division 50-54.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psalm 103: 1-2
