Jesus Christ our Hope,our Anchor

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil.

First Day of School for our sophomore student, his 10th grade year began today, the 2010-2011 school year.
His curricula which we have set consists of:
 I)  Exploring World History     A)  Exploring World History
Notgrass                           B)  English( World Literature &                                   Composition)
                                             C)  Bible (Issues in World History)
II)  Chemistry(Apologia)

III)  Aeronautics I( History and Practical)

IV)  Physical Educational( running cross country, wellness center,  ect.)

V)  Short courses ( such as Foundations in Personal Finance by Dave Ramsey)

VI) Geometry(Teaching Textbooks)

The courses will be supplemented by video lectures from The Great Courses series/The Teaching Company.    One that we started today was: How to Become a SuperStar Student.  Most are by outstanding high school teachers and give more insight into subjects.  We got one to go with Geometry and Chemistry.  We chose ones that have little opportunity for humanist views while still giving insight that will help progress of courses like Geometry and Chemistry.  We wouldn't choose the biology or some of the others because of secular views, but our son has become very perceptive in seeing what view a teacher is coming from, whether Christian or Evolutionary- Humanist.

To start the year we gathered in the study room and we held hands and prayed, sang a hymn, then gave the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.  We were glad David was off today.  His help was appreciated in getting us off to a good start.
